Kira Anna Lee, πΆ Artist
Kira Anna Lee was born and raised in Pasadena, California and has had an aptitude for music since she was 5 years old. When she was younger, she sang in a church choir and performed in various school musicals. When she was ten years old she started taking singing lessons at the South Pasadena Conservatory of music. It was then that she began creating her own music and fell in love with songwriting.
She briefly joined a band when she was thirteen performing rock and blues covers, as well as co-writing originals with the other band members. Kira attended Renaissance Arts Academy in Los Angeles for middle school and high school where she took music theory classes and music history.
She began performing her original music solo at the age of fourteen and has been playing ever since. Some of her inspirations include Lauryn Hill, Ella Mai, Kiana LedΓ©, Amy Winehouse, Sara Bareilles, and Jazmine Sullivan. After high school, Kira moved to Illinois to attend Columbia College Chicago for music where she had the opportunity to take voice lessons from the vocal producer for Fox TVβs show βEmpireβ, Jeff Morrow. She was in numerous music ensembles including the Columbia College Chicago gospel band directed by Jonathan McReynolds.
In 2018 through 2019 she studied abroad in Germany at PopAkademie in Mannheim, and performed gigs with a local cover band. There she also collaborated with other producers and songwriters to pitch songs to Sony Music.
This May, she received her Bachelors in Music in the Contemporary, Urban, and Popular music program from Columbia College.
